
Running Ray Tracing on a GPU Server
A few years ago, to better understand ray tracing, I read the book Ray Tracing in One Weekend. The original code samples were in C++, and as I read, I was translating and writing them in Python. Yes, I knew from the start that it was a terrible idea, but I was curious. One of the best ways to observe Python’s performance inadequacy is to test the ray tracing algorithm by generating an image with a width of 1000 pixels. But even 300 pixels takes a lot of time.
